Elkridge 50+ Center Walking Club Ambassador 
Community Resources and Services - Senior Centers


Do you enjoy exercise, being outdoors, and socializing? The Elkridge 50+Center of Howard County Office on Aging and Independence is currently seeking volunteers to serve as Walking Club Ambassadors. Walking Club Ambassadors will be responsible for promoting the program; and facilitating and coordinating daily neighborhood walks while making members feel welcomed and connected. Ambassadors will serve as a cohort group that will work together in coordinating volunteer schedules, facilitating the daily walks, and other duties as assigned.

Meeting and greeting all members
Initiating daily 1-2-mile neighborhood walks (from the 50+ Center)
Facilitate the walking route
Work with all Ambassadors in the coordination of schedules, walks, etc.
Participate and support other walking related activities (Walk Maryland Day)
Work under the direction of staff
Follow standard policies and procedures

Must be in good; physical condition
Be willing to work outside
Good communication skills
Feel comfortable working with older adults
Good leadership skills
Ability to follow directions and instructions

Be able to commit to an established ongoing schedule
Ability to walk approximately 2-miles
Ability to communicate effectively
Ability to lead groups

Daily walks take place M-F; 8 am-9 am

*This position will require qualified volunteers to complete a Non-Disclosure Agreement Form.
