Description

The Howard County Department of Community Resources and Services, is thrilled to announce a new event for 2019. Hosted by the Office on Aging and Independence, "Master Aging: Engage, Educate, & Inspire" is a conference-style event with seminars, exhibitors and entertainment for the 50+ community. This event will take place on Saturday, October 19, 2019 at Howard Community College in Columbia.

Volunteers are needed throughout the day for various tasks during the event. We will also need volunteers to assist with set-up the night before on Friday, October 18th.

If you are looking to volunteer, this is a great opportunity! Students are encouraged to volunteer; service hours will be approved!

Exhibitor Helper: Volunteer will assist vendor/exhibitor with bringing in their materials & showing them to their provided space. Must be able to lift boxes/materials (dollies will be available). May assist in other areas as needed. Great for students

Art Project Assistant & Seminar Monitor: Looking for volunteers who have an interest and/or knowledge in art. Volunteer will hand out materials for art projects & assist where needed. Will monitor other seminars, collect evaluations, take attendance.

Evaluation Assistant: Looking for outgoing personalities! Volunteer will encourage & assist participants with completing an event evaluation survey, which will be done utilizing paper surveys or an iPad. Bilingual volunteers encourage to apply!
